About Cosy Comfy Knits

I have been knitting since I was 7 years old. I was never sure I really liked knitting, but here I am still knitting nearly 60 years later.

My left-handed knitting Granny taught me, which caused many misunderstandings, but we got there in the end.

My first project was knitting a very small bear. I remember my classmate being amazed that I knew what I was doing and that I could read a pattern.

My mother bought herself a knitting machine in my teenage years; this fascinated me and became my introduction to knitting on the machine. My boyfriend at the time received a cosy scarf as my first project, but it was so long he said 3 of his friends could wear it at the same time as he had it on.

Once I was married and had a young family, I found knitting a necessity to keep the family warm during chilly winter days.

Later on, once my nest was empty, I bought my first knitting machine and got the contract with a local school to knit all their scarves for the winter uniform. I can assure you the length was correct this time. 

After immigrating, I took up hand knitting again with great joy to knit for my grandchildren. I bought a knitting machine again and decided to offer my creations to the world. 

So here we are today: Cosy Comfy Knits was born, and I am enjoying every minute.
